Not to steal your thunder Khet, but seeing your Space Commander posts (which I am looking forward to trying) made me remember Wing Commander....

Anyone else remember or played Wing Commander.... God I wish they would make another one.... maybe a revamp of the original.

Hah, Wing Commander was a great game. If I had the chance I would pick it up without a second thought and probably play it for hours on end.

Oh man, those games were SOOOOOO good. I still have WC Prophecy and WC IV. I love the story lines in those games and the incorporation of Mark Hamil was badass.

Hell ya, Wing Commander III was my fav, on the 3DO is looks soooooo damn good, and it was fun to play.
Too bad EA is just sitting on the licence and doing nothing with it..... A-HOLES. :beatin: :bang:

Wing Commander was a great series, Mark Hamill rocks. I miss Mech Warrior also. Noone is putting out any simulation games anymore. Try finding a good combat flight sim or space sim. Nothing. Too many 1st person shooter and MMO's eating up the market. My poor joystick is dusty as hell.

lol I was thinking the same thing. I was going through some stuff yesterday, and I found my joystick with about a pound of dust on it. I have tried a couple of fighter sims, but they were either way too complicated (over 100 pages worth of manuals) or just boring and bland

Well I know Lock On Modern Aircombat, and IL2 were the last good ones, and Falcon 4.0 just got a big update in the last 6-8 months, that's about all we have right now with combat sims... unless you like FSX, which I have as well.

there is never total peace, there is always some rogue causing havoc.... or you could do what other's do and make a game pre Wing Commander 1, there is always a way... don't burst my bubble of happy thoughts now.

In Wing Commander Prophecy, the Kilrathi weren't that much involved at all. The bad guys were some alien dudes. I dont think it would be hard to come up with something.

I liked Wing Commander for the SNES. that's the only one I played.

It's true that they're not making many Fighter Sims and Mechs anymore....I think it's probalby because too many were made and they just weren't making money with them anymore. Give it time and it'll all come back.

Top Gun made Fighter Sims more popular just like Saving Private Ryan made WWII FPSers popular. Then they made Battlefield 1942 where you had FPS and "kinda" flight sim in the same game.
