With Halloween coming around the corner every channel seems to be playing a bunch of old horror flicks which is kinda cool. I've always been a fan, and enjoy this time of year.

Any fans out here? They listed the top 50 horror films on a website, and it was cool to see what they ranked. The number one didnt surprise me, but its old school. Thats the only hint I'll give. ;)

The number 3 film was brilliant, I thought the spin they put on the story was excellnt, and if you haven't seen it, I recommend you do.

I like scary movies ... but I didn't seem most of those lol.

I did see Shaun of the Dead tho ... and I thought it was more funny then scary....but I liked it. Favorite part is when he walks to the store and doesn't notice everything that is going on around him.

Pretty solid list. Though, I am surprised A Clockwork Orange isnt on there...maybe people don't classify it in the genre, but nonetheless I thought it would be there. Also, 28 Days Later was pretty good, but I like 28 Weeks Later better.

Also, I can't believe The Shining isn't on the list.

Yea, I'd say Shaun of the Dead was more comedy then horror, I was surprised at that. I cant believe that The Shining wasn't on the list... :o Thats insane, but again, maybe its about the genre... but what would they classify it as... hmm, now I'm gonna have to look it up. :D

I was really surprised at that, The Shining is a classic, and IMDb has it listed as Horror, so someone screwed the pooch on that one.. I mean come on.. Fright Night... "Mmm Mmm... dinner's in the oven.." what the hell is scary about that.. lol

Suspense is definitely better then just blood and guts, when they go over the top with the gore, it just dumbs it down IMO. You need the right mix to really get it right.

And then you got something like this... cult classic..
