Dark Crusade anyone? Knew to Warhammer RTS, but interested to try it.

So ridiculously useless my computer seems when the game we all want to play isn't even out.

Verd, myself, and others of our former "clan" all have DoW AT LEAST up to the Dark Crusade expansion. I just recently bought Soulstorm, the newest one, but haven't played it much. I was going to play some last night, but I got a relapse of the "crud" and didn't feel too great.

I have Soulstorm myself and dark crusade. I have to say, I like the Soulstorm.

I played skirmishes with Verd for several hours yesterday, and I have to say that I like both of the new factions, though I still need to get a better feel for them.

I think I go by Nahht in online mode. Verdigris plays too, and so do several others we know. We could conceivably get a pretty big game together sometime. :2cool:

I've still got my spreadsheet. We'd need to start over, obviously, and also modify the players, names, etc., but it could work.

I still don't have Soulstorm, however I do have a system that can finally play Dark Crusade. Finally beat the campaign as Chaos. :barb:

We had an EPIC multiplayer skirmish last night. We're not exactly experts at the game, so 4 of us teamed up against two Hard AI. 2 of our 4 players (Verd and Harka) got hit hard and fast, and were soon out of the game due to overwhelming numbers. The remaining two of us were sure we'd be gone in little or no time at all, and endured several waves of assaults from the enemy AI. After failing to gain ground in a "tactical" manner, we decided to hole up, build up a full army, and go for broke - it was win or lose time.

Over 81 minutes later, we somehow claimed victory. We threw everything that our Space Marine and Imperial Guard forces had at the heretics of Chaos, and were able to break their hold over the mid-field area. Once we had done that, we kept them on the run and razed their bases, never giving them a chance to recover.

Our 81 minute match has to be the longest DoW game I've played to this point. Verd and Harka didn't make it to the end, but they watched the entire match, and agreed that it was almost as much fun to watch as it was to have still been playing. :2cool:

I sent in a PM about Vent to Korgoth, but haven't got anything back on it, so I'm not sure what else I need to do to use it. Otherwise, I'd have been there already. :2cool:

BTW: Do you have Xfire? That's what we usually use to coordinate games in lieu of having access to something like Vent.
