The moonlight cast a lifelike shadow on the tent that seemed almost to move of its own volition. The silhouette moved like an anonymous figure, wreathed in darkness, alone on a canvas stage. This was not an easy mission. Had been thrown to the wolves? Was this a fool's mission? He might not know until his head decorated a pike. Nevertheless, he'd see it through. So strong was his sense of purpose that he strode confidently up to the sentries, pulled back the hood of his cloak, and introduced himself.

"I am Graive Moss of Nova Ara and I bid you good tidings." He spread his hands wide in innocence as two polearms were leveled neatly at his face. "I am unarmed, but I am not without protective measure. I seek an audience with your leader."

Howdy fellas! I'm a member of The Grey Order and I figured I'd stop by on a lark...hehe. I've read a few of your Roleplaying threads and couldn't help but grin wholeheartedly. You've got some great writers and talented RPers in your guild. Have you ever done any inter-guild or cross-guild RPing? The Grey Order is a serious and mature RP guild so we have three or four different threads going concurrently even now -- months before the game is released. I think taking part in RP beforehand helps you really get into character and develop those plotlines even further once the game is released.

*huff*

Okay, that was a mouthful. Nova Ara is a frontier town (the founding of which was sanctioned by Conan himself) the likes of which you can imagine from the movies...hehe. Out in the pictish wilderness, doing what we must for survival, accepting people whose skills, talents, and cultures may be drastically different from our own...just to make it. Border-life is difficult to say the least so necessity has made for some very strange bedfellows. We have a veritable potpourri of people with mixed parentage and some very outlandish skillsets.

That having been said, Nova Ara is -- first and foremost -- a city of tolerance. And every city is bound to have an underground, an illicit gambling or slavery ring, a black market for lotus and other rare substances...right alongside the militia, and the city guard, and the beaurocracy. The bottom line is: If you can imagine it, chances are there's someone who wants to RP it with you...hehe. We have the freedom within the guild-backstory to do just about anything we want to.

Would you guys care to do some RPing? If it works out -- awesome -- if not, then no harm done. If it evolves into something more in-game or whatever...then so be it. But I'm here to tell ya that we're a bunch of likeminded folks who love to RP and love doin' it hardcore...hehe.

Take care and thanks for takin' the time to read my post.

Greetings to you as well, Welcome to the forums here. Im sure there are folks who would love to do some rp with your group of people. Rpers all over usually jump at the chance to find other rpers. I personally may drop in .. with Fawn, whom will be my main, at this time however she is in a cave fighting a giant spider. *chuckles* . If she lives perhaps she will swing down the road.
Anyway thanks for posting the invitation.. *waves

((My humble apologies for the delay in response. I've been busier 'n a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs! I have ducked in on a couple other clans who share our zest for RPing and our penchant for prolific writing...hehe. The outlook is great! Since there'll be more than just The Grey Order participating in the cross-guild RP we had to find some "common ground" on which to post and about which to spin our tale so we've decided to meet at www.aoc-rp.com and throw caution to the winds regarding a plot. Anyone who wishes the post will, of course, be welcome to join in. There are no restrictions or guidelines save those outlined by the "respect others clause" in the forum acceptance form. Bottom line -- come and have some fun. I've spoken to some fellas from Verdant Watch and Defiance just to name a few and I think we've got a really great group of people in the mix. Watch those forums over the next few days. I'll have something up there before the weekend. Oh, it'll have "cross-guild RP" somewhere in the title.))

Moss, startled from his reverie by all the warmth and mirth, draws long and deep from his mug and shows his appreciation by letting a long draught splatter across his chest and down his legs. Down his legs? Wait...

It is with suspicious curiosity and humble modesty that he looked down through the bristly whiskers in his great salt 'n pepper beard to see his naked flesh. Crom! Where in Hyboria have my clothes gotten off to? Moss bowed a humble thanks to his hospitable new friends...not too close to the fire...and humped off into the woods while gooseflesh rippled his old, wrinkled skin and the base of his skull threatened to tingle into oblivion.

((Hail and well met!))

I am a little confused Witchcraft. The response I got from your guild leader stated that they were not interested in pursueing any cross guild activities. Is this venture your own?

Hmm...I'm not sure what transpired between you and Garek but I'm only here to foster a fantastic Roleplay environment and get a rousing story the likes of which will rival the epics!

http://www.aoc-rp.com/forum/index.php?topic=1212.0

This is the forum thread I was talking about and, thus far, I've talked with folks from The Verdant Watch, Defiance, you guys, and one or two others who are interested in contributing.

Please do not mistake this for some kinda political intrigue (although I hope something spicy may come of it) or formal OOC alliance in the wake of the Hyborian Accord...or something. My overtures here are to engender a hearty and healthy roleplaying bond between those folks who want to roleplay regardless of the guild they belong to (or even what server they're on...hehe...although it'll be made all the better when the game is out and we already have some adventure in the mix). As with all the RP guilds, The Grey Order has its folks who are avid RPers and others who don't have as much time or whatever. I figured that creating a common thread (forgive the pun) that would allow any and all of us with the same priorities to RP across the boundaries of our guilds would give us a real sense of community.

Yes, I represent The Grey Order whenever and where-ever I post. But, no, I'm not here to do anything other than RP. One last thing that sorta pertains...

If our characters' paths should cross in-game or if we become friends through the roleplay then -- regardless whether our guilds are joined in treaty or at war or totally excommunicado -- we'll still have brethren in RP

Take care fellas and, like I said, please feel free to jump into the thread. There are no guidelines or restrictions save those that www.aoc-rp.com has already set forth in their forum decorum standards. Let's make something GRAND!

Hey, just stopped back in after doing a little bit of research. I have a funny feeling that Garek didn't want to pursue inter-guild formal events/activities or whatever they had in mind because the SWC has a little more relaxed policy regarding RP than we do. I believe the situation he was trying to avoid is the one where a group of us...Grey Order, SWC, doesn't matter...are RPing (TGO members are supposed to stay in character at all times) and someone comes along and starts littering chat with OOC stuff or just, in general, makes it more difficult to keep our "immersion" thing going. I can understand that. I think, in general, your RP policies as a guild are a little more relaxed than ours but that certainly doesn't mean we can RP together...especially in the forums. We have reserved the guild-chat channel and PMs for OOC chat and prefer to keep all /say and /party stuff in character.

To be perfectly honest we have really understanding mentality when it comes to folks not wanting to RP all the time or be in character 24/7 or whatever...but it's difficult for those folks who want that super-immersion to stay there when there's OOC stuff and actions (you've all seen that guy who runs around tapping the SPACE-BAR and dueling everyone) that can be a real distraction.

Sooooooo...I'm sure that will have relevance when the game is here but, for right now, anyone who wants to do a bit of writing and flesh out his/her character...please feel welcomed and don't hesitate to join the aforementioned thread just because of my guild-tag...hehe. Besides, from what I've seen in this thread it looks like you've got a whole slew of very strong RPers and a great attitude towards it.
