New Darkfall Online Video

Fans have been screaming for a video for a couple years now. This is a pretty big deal for the long-time followers of this game:

I've heard a lot of Darkfall and I expected more

but the fact that they have 10 more years to develop the game speaks to its longevity :shake: :shifty: :joker:

Just watched the video and it seemed ok, I know its been in development for a while. I think they have some really cool concepts with mounts and free flying, not sure if thats still in. The world itself is suppose to be rediculiously huge....really comes down to cost and who's backing them. Alongside a timeline and quality of product.

mainly becource everyting they got going for them is slowly getting outdated, all game mechanics the are planning to make/implent that makes darkfull sutch a uniqe game are getting in the bigger develpments slowly. by the time darkfall is completed it might bring nothing new to the market.

Well said Deij, thats my fear as well. Couple that with the High Fantasy art and graphics... :shrug: I'll keep watching. :D

The game has been designed 100% around scalability in large-scale combat, hence the slightly dated looking graphics. I'll take a game that isn't quite as shiny any day of the week if it actually allows a couple hundred people to battle out possession of a player city in a non-instanced world.

I'm not sure how it will be outdated, no other game out there has accomplished what they are promising. Conan isn't going to be nearly as innovative. :shrug:

Darkfall in it's current version was begun in 2003. It has been in development for 4-5 years. I am not sure why everyone seems to think this is a big deal. How long has any other major MMO been in development? I'm betting we see beta by the end of summer with a launch of this game by this time next year. *IF* it actually runs even decently well, it'll be the best PvP/sandbox MMO ever made, hands down...

Darkfall beta sign up started August 29th, all you hard core people who want a sandbox with true FFA play should check it out , it is looking very interesting.

this looks very exciting to me. Maybe we could start a silver wolf clan chapter in this game as well. We could even use the wolf people. I like the fact that there are no levels to get too just skills to use and the amounts of skills is huge. i anxiously await this release, they say its gonna be this year yet. Please Santa!

Thanks for posting this link. I guess I'm gonna have to break down and go over to the Darkfall site and really check it out. I've been putting it off waiting to find out if this game is really gonna come out or not before I get my hopes up.

And I sure hope your Dad gets feeling better soon. Graelok I'm sending get well thoughts through the internet to you :).

Lil Graelok, are you checking these boards? I haven't heard from your dad in a while, is he ok? I'm a bit worried, so tell him to let us know whats up if he can. :)

That's actually a very cool idea - our clan could all be wolves... :rock: at least it's a thought. I keep an eye on the game and see how it goes - not going to apply for the beta or anything....but will keep an eye on it.
